Approval Sheet

The Approval Sheet is the official record that your panel accepted your defended manuscript. It carries signatures from the panel chair, members, and the programme head. This lesson shows the standard layout and the things that often go wrong.

Private collegeOften combined with dean's signature
Sectarian institutionMay include chaplain's blessing line
Engineering programmesMay include a department research head

Avoidable Mistakes

  1. Printing on the wrong paper weight (most schools require bond, not copy).
  2. Asking for signatures before the panel has the final-final draft.
  3. Forgetting the academic year on the date line.
  4. Spelling errors in panellist names or titles (the most embarrassing one).
